JOHANNESBURG – The Drinks Federation of South Africa (DF-SA) released their economic research report, on the contribution to GDP of the Alcohol Beverage Industry. 
The report shows the corporate tax contribution of the industry and its support to livelihoods.

While South Africans, according to a DTIC report, are among the heaviest drinkers on the continent, there is at least 73% of the population abstains from alcohol. 
Dr. Shamal Ramesar Head of Research at the Drinks Federation Of South Africa discussed the trends, economic contribution and industry codes of conduct.
